About Magdalena
Magdalena has studied Chinese Medicine (acupuncture and herbal medicine) full-time for 5 years, BSc Hons and MSc, at University of Westminster. She graduated as an acupuncturist 2002.
Before she commenced her journey in Chinese Medicine she qualified as a massage therapist and she has since completed several advanced massage courses including pregnancy massage and Thai massage. She has further done in-depth training with Janet Balaskas at the Active Birth centre. Magdalena has a special interest in fertility, pregnancy, hormonal issues and skin conditions. However, she is as happy and competent to work with any other issues/problems too.
- Even though I see myself as a general acupuncture practitioner, the majority of my patients fall within the category of fertility, pregnancy and menstrual/hormonal issues. I am further one of the original members of the reputable ACT London
(Acupuncture Childbirth Team), www.actlondon.net . I am also a member of the East Kent based The Birth Network www.birthnetwork.org.uk , who provides care and support from pre-conception to pregnancy and beyond.
Magdalena has worked in both in low-cost multibed setting at Shoreditch Healthy Living Centre and with private 1-2-1 treatments (www.islington-chiropractic.co.uk) at The Islington Chiropractic & Comlementary health clinic. She has further worked with acupuncture in the NHS, done clinical supervision at the University of Westminster's teaching clinic and worked voluntary as an acupuncturist in the North of India.
Magdalena was the founder/director of Shoreditch trust's unique Acupuncture-in-Pregnancy/fertility multi bed clinic where, for many years she worked in close cooperation with the local community midwives. After 12 years at Shoreditch trust, the clinic sadly had to close down, due to lack of funding. However, the experience has given her an invaluable amount of knowledge and expertise. Pregnancy, fertility and beyond will continue to be a large scope of my practise.
